I use this move at 2-4NL and it never fails. Once I chopped with another AQo unimproved:
I raise from EP with A10o+. I get a call from habitual PF caller who makes up for loose calls by moderate floating/stealing/aggression. Flop is 552 or something similar. Paired board, all rags. I check, PF caller always pots, I MIN-raise (critical), he calls (NEVER folds). If he were to re-raise here I probably fold regardless of the size of the raise, but that almost never happens. Turn is whatever. I check, if he makes a small bet he spiked the turn and I fold A high/underpair type hands and I CRAI big pairs (they always call the CRAI with their spiked top-pair). If he pots I CRAI A10o+ and they always time-down and fold or call on a pot-committed draw. Their big turn bet in this situation is always a bluff and your A-high is good. With this move you'll be picking up 60-70 BBs with your marginal big cards, it's a great image play even if it were to fail (which it never does), and sometimes you'll pick up 100 BB pots when the draw calls the turn and misses river (the poker gods will reward you for using this move by never allowing opponents to spike turn/river). |
