The UK has a tiny gun deaths rate compared to the States (US gun deaths run at a rate of about fifty times those in the UK even adjusted for differing population size)

Just wondering why you think there is so much London--->Manchester migration amongst young people. My mum left Manchester for Lon when she was 23ish, he brother stayed but of his 3 kids 2 have left for london and 1 is gonna leave when he graduates uni.

yeah....but it would seem to follow that if you take most of those guns out of circulation, there are going to be far less gun deaths. the people that illegally obtain them can do it far easier by stealing it from another citizen than they could stealing it from a cop.

Rafa Benitez sent scouts out around the world looking for a new striker to replace Michael Owen and hopefully win Liverpool the title.

One of the scouts informs him of a young Iraqi striker who he thinks will turn out to be a superstar.

The Liverpool manager flew to Baghdad to watch him, was suitably impressed and arranged for him to come over to Anfield.

Two weeks later Liverpool are 4-0 down to Manchester United with only 20 minutes left to play. The manager gives the young Iraqi striker the nod and on he goes.

The lad is a sensation, scores 5 goals in 20 minutes and wins the game for Liverpool.
The fans are delighted, the players and coaches are amazed and the media love the new star.

When the player comes off the pitch he phones his Mother to tell her about his first day in English football.
"Hello Mum, guess what?" he says, "I played for 20 minutes today. We were 4-0 down but I scored 5 and we won. Everyone loves me, the fans, the media, they all love me."

"Wonderful," says his Mum, "Let me tell you about my day. Your father got shot in the street, your sister and I were ambushed and raped, and your brother has joined a gang of looters, all whilst you were having a great time."
