I've been following this closely. While Roger Federer's demolition of Andy Roddick was hugely impressive, I can't help but feel he didn't need to play anywhere near his best as Roddick was having a particularly poor day. That said, he didn't need to, and hasn't dropped a set all tournament. Federer kept a cool head and pounced on Roddick's poor decisions, of which he made countless. Gonzalez's win was for me more impressive as he hit the ground running, broke an in-form Haas to love in the very first game and never looked back. It literally got to the stage where Haas was looking for ways to win a point on his own serve. [/ QUOTE ] Honestly, i thought differently of the semi final matches. I watched each match twice, and actually closer to 3 full times. Haas was flat out awful. He missed some easy shots early, kept hitting the ball down the middle, and didn't take advantage of some of the short balls. He then got down on himself, and mentally just wasn't there. I thought Haas played worse than Roddick, and i was more impressed with Federer, as he had so many jaw dropping shots in his match. Federer just took it to a whole new level vs Roddick hence the lopsided scoreline. But it's tough to compare who played worse b/w Haas and Roddick-- so I'll just leave it as-- they both sucked and it's not worth trying to debate who sucked more in the match. Federer has just pwned Gonzo in his career. Gonzo's improved, but Haas just can't compare Federer. Blake can't either, nor can Hewitt. Nadal struggled with a leg injury-- but I don't want to take anything from Gonzo, because he was superb vs Nadal in that match. I'd honestly be surprised if Gonzo really took it to Federer today. I just don't see it. If Federer is on, he will absolutely destroy Gonzo like 6-3, 6-2, 6-2. I'm excited though-- 2 1/2 hours till match time. Anything can happen.

I have Federer to win from WSEX from last week at -210 to win it all. Glad I bought a few shares of that. I am letting it ride. I also bought some more of Federer to win at -550 on WSEX and moved the line back to -600.
On the Greek I am playing Federer to win 3-0 at +105 odds and the games under 37.5 at -125. If Fed doesn't win bah. I will blame the US Government. They are a good target to blame for anything that goes wrong these days. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] -Brendan

Gonzo had that damn set!!! [/ QUOTE ] They each took turns giving it away. Wild forehands from Federer in the 8th game prevented him from getting a golden opportunity to break and go up 5-3. Typical Federer-- kind of sloppy there in the 1st set. Most of his errors though are coming on the side with the wind @ his back. He keeps sailing them long.
