I do the same thing. It is so simple you would think it's standard, but it's obviously not.

Or wash your hands with cold, not hot, water. Keeps the garlic oils from absorbing into your skin as much.

Toothpaste can also be used for the garlic on hands problem, actually, if your hands smell from anything, washing your hands with toothpaste gets teh smell off.

Easy way to get wrinkles out of clothes:

Throw a few articles into the dryer with a damp washcloth or hand towel and run it on high heat for 5 - 10 minutes. Remove clothes promptly.

Inexpensive and safe (if you have small children) all-purpose cleaner = white distilled vinegar.
Use it in your laundry instead of bleach for clothes that you can't bleach.

Cut with water (about 10:1) and use as a surface/glass cleaner.
