I used to be one of the guys who ran the 1/2 NL game in East Halls, but I've basically stopped going for the past year or so in favor of playing online. Last semester there was a 1/2 game every wednesday, which I went to a few times. From what I heard, there was at least a 1/1 game almost every night. Haven't been up this semester yet, so I'm not sure if that's changed.

I'd be interested in playing some 1/2 or 2/4. PM me if you guys get something going. I'd also be down for a mixed game, depending on stakes, etc.

I don't know anything about Penn State, but I do live in Miami. UM has to be one of the most overpriced schools in the country. There isn't anything that UM beats the public schools in Florida, besides the medical school and marine biology programs.

Miami is also not all that it's cracked up to be. You will need a car, and drive it A LOT. If you are thinking poker, then forget it; there isn't a poker scene in Miami. I could go on and on, but I won't. Unless if you are going to play ON the football team, then don't bother with UM.

I'm leaning pretty heavily to Penn State at this point... I heard there is a fairly new building for the School of Business. Are any of you business majors/ can comment on the business program at University Park?

The new business building complex is totally sick. Really modern looking. Very aesthetically pleasing.

Overall, the business program here is pretty solid. It's ranked 26th overall in the U.S. and 9th among public universities.

We party hard and yeah as youve already stated football games/tailgating are as good as it gets. campus is amazing.

I beg to differ. I've been to games in Happy Valley, but I went to Madison I'd have to say that gameday is better there.
With that out of the way, I had a blast when I visited PSU. I can't say anything about academics, but it seemed like an excellent place to go to school. My buddy who went there absolutely loved it. I really doubt you'll regret going there. Plus you'll save 32k and cost of living expenses, whether you make a lot playing poker or not, 32k is 32k.
FWIW- I have to concede the stadium is enormous and has an awesome atmosphere.

i don't know if this is still true...but a couple of friends at PSU years ago said they had limits on bandwidth because of high volume, so they could up and down a couple of gigs a week...not sure at all if this policy is still in effect...don't think u care, but just throwing it out there...

PSU does have bandwidth limits for living on campus, 1.5GB upload/download per month. If you exceeded it during a month you got knocked down to 56k for the rest of the month. I'm pretty sure if you violated it more than twice than you limited to 56k for the rest of the semester.

State College weather absolutely sucks. I love the area, but if you aren't into drinking/football then this is a horrible school social wise. It's pretty much State College, 40000 kids, and then a ton of farmland. As mentioned, the school is ridiculously white, so if diversity is a big thing for you then Miami is a better fit. I can't really speak for the business dept (I can check with a few friends if you want), but we are pretty good academically for a state school and there are a TON of options for you if you decide business isn't what you want to do. I'm about to head out, but if there's anything specific you want to know I'd be glad to help out

A couple people I know on the squash team through a friend that graduated are always bugging me to play 1/2 on the weekends. Usually bad time for me since I work at MRL in the day and prefer to go the bars at night. I'm not sure if they try to get new people or prefer to keep it to people they know, but if you want you can PM me your sn or something and I'll pass it on to him

The bandwidth is only used for actual downloading (songs, movies, porn, etc). I guess it's a little bit misleading, but you can only download or upload 1.5GB/month (1.5GB for each)
