Re: Move up? stats included
Start out by playing 1 table of $400. I thought different value tables would mess me up, but it really makes the transition easier for me at least.

[ QUOTE ]
what are some methods you are using to get unattached to the amount of money at stake? when i moved up from 100nl to 200nl i had some trouble. but by playing i got over that. but that's mainly because $200 is a lota money, but its not extremely big. $400, from where i came from, is a huge sum of money. my gf, who lives in asia, makes $650 a month working 6 days a week. the fact i can go down 4 buy ins at nl 400 a day which is $1600 shows how significant the money is.... [/ QUOTE ] There's your problem. You're comparing buyins to cash. Your thinking should be: who cares about going up or down 4 buyins a day? You have a proper bankroll for your limit, right? One days results don't mean a damn thing. If you record your sessions, try switching from recording day-to-day (or sesh-to-sesh) results to recording only end-of-week results, once a week. This way, you won't freak out at losing $xxx in the course of an hour. It's part of poker, and losing streaks will always happen. Don't stress yourself over things out of your control. |

Re: Move up? stats included
Your stats and results indicate that you should have no problem at 2/4. However you mention the motional aspect of the game whcih as far as i am concerned is the most important once you have established that your strategy is a winning one. There are no short cuts and no quick fixes, you basically need to easy yourself into the new level and take some shots not being afraid to drop back down at any point to either ragin confidence or focus.

Re: Move up? stats included
What stakes you play should be a function of your skill level, your bankroll, and what 2+2ers call your "psychological" bankroll. It seems like you've got the first two covered, but you can't quite handle the larger stakes yet. Work on that first, maybe by playing 1-2 tables at a time and focusing really hard on those. Add more over time.
Or, if you like the money you're making at these stakes, feel free to continue playing. But moving up is always awesomer, right? |
