so the DOJ will not figure it out once the deposit option is posted ? Or will it matter if they eventually figure it out? Any information on Absolute or UB on this matter?

If it's a matter of "figuring it out", they obviously will, meaning it is a short term solution.

Which is why i do not understand vin's last remark.

More than likely they have set up a payment process unaffected by the DOJ.

Of course the DOJ will figure it out

The implication here is they wont be able to touch it

I'm wondering if the DOJ would go after a payment processor that was only used at poker only sites like Full Tilt and Stars. Everything that we've seen so far from the US and DOJ goes back to sports betting one way or another. Thoughts?

I wonder the answer to this question as well. They wouldn't have much of a case.

Seems like pretty good news to me.

If Stars somehow calls it quits in the U.S. as some are speculating I believe FT and UB and WSEX or somewhere will be a viable option.

I'm not sure if this news makes it any more or less likely that Stars is going to stay in the U.S.

They said in Oct they were going to stay.
At that time they had to know that neteller was likely to pull out at some point.
They perhaps didn't foresee that the DOJ would be quite this gung-ho about it but they probably considered the possibilitiy.

So I'm not sure enough has changed from the original forecast to sway Stars' minds. But they might have had a plan all along of, "Lets stay in the U.S. for now and if it gets too hot we can leave."

None of us know for sure.

I'm pulling for Stars because 100% of my play is there these days anyway.
But if they leave I still don't think it will be the end of the world because FT sound pretty committed to me.

[/ QUOTE ] Once its done it likely won't be undone. I am not positive the US government couldn't stop it before it gets up ad running though. I hope that makes sense.

I am also, by nature, paranoid.

Maybe they are emailing those who emailed them asking about the situation.

I received this same e-mail, but had e-mailed them a day or two ago about alternatives to Neteller, so you are probably correct.

Here's my email from FTP

Dear oober,

Despite some recent changes in the payment processing industry, we want you to know that, as a current Click2Pay user, you can still easily and safely transfer money between Click2Pay and Full Tilt Poker using your personal bank account or credit card.

You can still play in all of your favorite ring games and tournaments at Full Tilt Poker without worrying about establishing a new payment processor account with another provider.

We also want to remind you that your money is always safe and secure while it's on deposit at our site, and that we remain dedicated to providing you with the best online poker experience anywhere.

Sincerely,

Full Tilt Poker

I really don't think they would throw these out there without some committent from the processors...
