Earbuds are extremely functional for people that use their iPods while walking. I have Shures E2c's, the sound quality is fantastic and they block out nearly all background noise, so I can listen to music at very low levels, even in loud environments. basically you're wrong, and you're being an idiot, like I said.

I dont give a [censored] if people know I have an ipod or not. [/ QUOTE ] Until mine broke, this is exactly why I used them. It makes all the sense in the world.

I'd like to brag a little, so here's some other things I have: Cell phone Computer TV w/ Tivo Blankets Shoes Digital camera I know tons of other people have these things, but I couldn't help trying to be cool, so I had to buy them. I hope you all think I'm SUPER COOL now.

This is an idiotic thread. Why would anyone who doesn't use iPod earbuds feel inclined to speculate about the reasons that other people use them? Why are you so worried about what other people are doing? Would it bother you if people WERE wearing them just to look cool?
I'm with Evan: they're small and they come with the iPod, meaning they don't cost any additional money and I don't have to waste time learning about some crap I don't care about (headphone technology).
