Neteller is a publicly traded company. Shut up.

[/ QUOTE ]

And so was Enron

[/ QUOTE ]

So if you were a Neteller stockholder, you might be worried.
Enron paid it's customers, it was the shareholders and investors that got hurt.

Tax evasion? You guys are great.

I am not too sure what being a public company has to do with anything. Please look up Betonsports. They were the largest sportsbook in the world. They were traded on the same stock exchange as Neteller.

They stiffed everyone

Good luck to all and this is all going to come down to how much integrity the management at Neteller and their banks have. If they want to steal all our money, they can and they will.

This is a perfect opportunity to do so and blame it on the United States. They are probably facing 50-100 years in jail on money laundering charges and aiding and abetting the Wire Act.

Anyways, it appears that this arrest does not have anything to do with the legislation, and that it's probably more related towards tax evasion (why do you think they're canadian?)

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm sure tax evasion arrests often involve coordinated two-coast actions on government holidays.

This is significant. Even if the charges end up being BS or unrelated, the arrests were clearly contrived to put the wind up processors and their shareholders. I think we're about to see another wave of voluntary compliance.

Customers were paid pennies on the dollar and it took quite a bit of time for that to happen too.

This is all way too simplified. A bankruptcy in such a consortium and the internal interdepencies makes the effect different for creditors to different parts. As an example, an Enron subsidiary operating in Northern Europe never went bankrupt and nobody lost a dime, the bankruptcy made them owned by a bankrupt company and such became an asset which could be sold to pay creditors, but the creditors could not directly withdraw funds from the subsidiary if the balance did not permit it (thus creditors in this subsidiary were practically 100% certain to get fully paid). A different subsidiary could i.e. owe the mother company a lot of money and thus bankrupt as a result of that and make the pro rata payments low.

Everybody - I've determined that this is the end of the world.

Fleece - You are greatloy understating the importance of this situation. How you can be so calm at a time like this is beyond me. If you expressed a little more panic or urgency in your tone you might catch people's attention better.
