check, nh. Your image would have to be a bit crazy to make a thin value bet here.

Check behind on river. That turned 10 will slow down a lot of hands that beat you, but aren't folding. There really isn't much value on the river.

He folds hands that you beat and raises hands you dont.

Um, why do you want this?

Basically, your hand is not very strong. It may as well be 34o in this spot because we're rarely going to showdown (and winning).

[/ QUOTE ]

So, so wrong. What kind of range are you assigning Villain?

It's not that thin. And thin value bets are where the profits are at.

Short answer: Protecting your hand is way less important than getting maximum value out of it IMO.

[/ QUOTE ]

How are you goign to gain ANY extra value out of AK/AQ/AJ/lower PPs? Seems to me you only lose value in the long run by checking this flop vs them. Giving up a 3bet pot when an overcard comes on the turn and they bet into you is expensive.

On second thought, most villians will call about 1/2 pot bet with lower PP's BECAUSE YOU CHECKED THE FLOP.

If river did not double pair the board and villain checked (as played), I would VB.

We want him to show us his hand so we can make a better decicion.

I'm refering to a flop bet here. Obv if we check the flop its possible for us to win at showdown because instead of giving him the option to fold worse hands were giving him a chance to beat us with free cards for which we gain no value.
