I didn't even realize that it was possible that you could cry because of poker.
I ruined many a furniture and hurt myself to bleeding at times when I was running bad. I cursed and sweared to a degree inconceivable, knowing for sure that if hell didn't exist, the gods and goddesses in their heavens would create hell especially for me. Shedding a few tears doesn't look so bad to me, and certainly much cheaper. I think I'll try that next time. |

Human tears are shed at both ends of the emotional spectrum guys. Like most of the posters, I may have lost some sleep over beats or variance, and especially over my own misplays. it's never come to crying.
On the other end of the spectrum, I have at times been taken back by how truly beautiful this game can be. The mental warfare, the constant challenge to reach deeper into my brain for better decisions. Poker brings us alive in winning and losing. It is a metapher for so much more than we give it credit for. So at times old saps like me sit back after a home game or week of success and yes, in the gleam of our eye, with thoughts of gratitude for the experience, a tear may flow. Here's to crying. |
