By the way, how is it this poll gets 111 votes, but we've seen at best half that for final votes?

szw,

I love the mushrooms, but I'd much rather see this be saved for about april-may when morel season is going on for most of the US.

Are morels expensive? I've never had any kind of expensive pricier mushroom, but I love all mushrooms I've ever tried. Your proposal is fine with me!

Chimp,

I've definately tried to be as hands-off as possible letting those who participate voice their desires with my role being final judge of where those desires lie. This is OOT's Iron Chef, I'm just the moderator.

Thanks for increasing my knowledge on pears. I know that I'm also blessed to live so close to CA (LV). The produce section at my local supermarket is probably superior to those elsewhere in the country.

All,

I'm happy to see avacados and mushrooms in the lead. I can do good things with mushrooms, and I do love avocados. However, Klompy is probably right in that there are better times to do mushrooms.

swz,

If memory serves, morels only grow wild and mainly in NE US. They are expensive for these reasons. A waitress friend of mine in NY used to go morel hunting and then sell them to our chef.
