Default Re: Greektown NL

Another problem is that both MC and Greektown have uncapped NL games. This is a problem because it will eventually dry the game up. It slows down action when someone can buy in and have the table covered. I think there is an article on this site about this very thing. Even some vegas casinos are going to some uncapped games. I have never agreed with it. I think it takes away the integrity of the game. Hopefully MGM will turn to a 2/5 500 max game and motor and greektown will either dry up or they will have to change.

So does Greektown still spread the 20-40 game, which is sometime round by round?

And is it still donktacular?

Default I hear the $2-5 game is being offered at MC

I read in a different post that Motor City has indeed introduced this game, however when the poster was there it was shorthanded (I think this past Thursday). Has anyone else been there while this game was running? Does it run often? How is the action? If they can keep this going I have to think the action will be great. Some of the looser $1-2 players might play tighter since they're in a bit over their head (perhaps), but a lot of the $5-10NL regulars will probably play a lot looser while waiting for the big game so things should balance out...plus those guys have more money so it may even do better than even out.

I just got back from 2 weeks on the West coast and plan to stop in next week sometime. Thanks in advance for any info on how this and other NL games have been around town.

For what it's worth I called down there on Christmas and around 8pm they had a $2-5 game going; $200-$500 buyin. It was full w/ three names on the list. If they can get it going on Christmas I have to assume that it will go most days

I have a played it a few times this past week. I would say it will be 80% 50-200 players, but there were also some new players perhaps in for the holidays. Pots were bigger, but preflop play was a bit tighter.
