If you don't mind sugar, Tom Collins is a tasty drink that you won't be looked down on for drinking.

Try a 7 and 7. I don't like the way that looks. Make it a seven and seven. Eh, I don't like that either. At least you don't have to write it out when you order it.

My go to drinks have always been gin and tonic, and jameson and diet. I would suggest just taste-testing a wide variety of liquors, seeing what you like the best and then finding a good mixer for it. If you had started drinking at the age of 13 or 14 like a normal person, this would have come in the form of combining one shot from every bottle in your friend's parent's liquor cabinet in a plastic soda bottle and then adding cherry slurpy to try to mask the taste.
