Unless someone can prove otherwise castration would just be extremely cruel and all that other constitution stuff.

For anybody who advocates castration or death, how inaccurate would the judicial system have to be in convicting the right person in order for you to change your mind?
0.001%, 0.01%, 0.1%, 1%, 5%??? (That were wrongly convicted). Also, what course of action would you take if someone else ended up confessing to the crime (or if DNA evidence cleared the convicted child molester) after the wrongly convicted guy was already executed or castrated? Do you just tell him (or his family) "Ooops, our bad." ?
