[/ QUOTE ] Just in terms of years and $$, not taking into account organizational replacement player (ie. Dodgers, Nomar/Looney, Pierre/Kemp). Edmonds, Nomar, Thomas, Alou, Helms, Casey, Cora, Wood.

[/ QUOTE ] Yes, they in general are getting fine deals, as one would expect. The only contracts that are just awful IMO are 5/55 for Matthews, 4/44 for Pierre, 8/136 for Soriano, and 6/100 for Lee. Everything else falls in the category of a slight overpay (1/4 for Sean Casey, 3/14 for Alex Gonzales) or a pretty good deal. (4/18 for Speier, 1/8.5 for Alou, 5/75 for Ramirez) [/ QUOTE ] The Pierre deal is fine, the Speier deal is terrible.

[/ QUOTE ] They could get similar prodcution to Carlos Lee for a lot less than 100mm over 6 years. That is why it is a stupid deal, they are overpaying. [/ QUOTE ] Going foward, what players who have the same production as Carlos Lee do you expect to sign for less? Are any of those players available this year and what will they sign for? [/ QUOTE ] Luke Scott over the next 6 years would cost them, what, 20 million tops? Not to mention he's younger and better on defense.
