Re: Correcting people vs. sounding like an ass
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Stuey.... no avatar???? I don't feel right... [/ QUOTE ] No more avatars for me. [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] I feel bad [censored] can't post here anymore and I think he loved that as much as I loved avatars so it seemed like the least I could do. It isn't easy either. lol That is scary sad and funny to me. [/ QUOTE ] It was pretty obvious to me that he wanted out. I think you were just the one who happened to give him the excuse he needed. I wouldn't feel bad. |

Re: Correcting people vs. sounding like an ass
Was staying in a hotel in Denver, and they gave us those credit card keys. Mine stopped working, so we went back. She asked me if I put it in my wallet, and I said yes. She said "well sometimes that messes up the electronical system." WTF?
If it's just the offender and me, and I know them, then I may bring it up so they'll avoid sounding like a [censored] at work, in public, etc. Basically after that, I tell them I say dumb stuff all the time and would appreciate their pointing it out too. With everyone else, I'll let it slide if it really doesn't matter. Used to have a manager who didn't know s#%% about s^&^, but he'd always talk about IT systems and database development. One time, he had a real hard time getting everyone to understand what the heck he was saying, but I had a good idea. He asked me "well ScottieK knows what I'm saying, don't you?" "No, actually I don't." That was fun. ScottieK |

LOL...you have to drop a WTF are you talking about w/ someone like that.
Blarg, the only reason I remember this stuff is because we constantly throw it back in his face when he [censored] up w/ something new. My favorite is evaporate the room. Squeek12 will come back to verify the douche in question (Grant). |

Re: Correcting people vs. sounding like an ass
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] "Its a virus, you just have to let the antibiotics do its job" [/ QUOTE ] i would either ignore it and move on with the conversation or just say something like "well since it's viral antibiotics won't help, but yeah i'll just have to wait it out." [/ QUOTE ] This is probably the only nearly safe play. This always depends on the friends in my experience. All my friends know I'm a knowitall douchebag. Well, OK, my whole circle of friends is a bunch of knowitall douchebags, so we'd correct eachother here. YMMV. And isn't "cold virus" a bit redundant? |
