They also don't understand any kind of "fantasy" world, for instance when most of us were kids we played with G.I. Joe's and Transformers etc. and pretended to blow up tanks and stuff...kids constantly play in a fantasy world but children with Autism have no concept of anything but reality

If I remember my psych degree correctly, there was a test for autistic children where a doll was used, and a marble (say) was put into a container of some kind in front of the doll and the child. The doll was removed, the marble moved from one container to another and the doll returned. The child would be asked "where does the doll think the marble is" and they would respond with where it had been moved to, since they cannot relate to the doll, which did not see the move.

Ah, that explains alot. Ecspecially the not pretending part, when we played as kids, there wasnt much pretending or fantasy world, if we played spies, we actually spied on neighbors, and used scanners to p/u thier cordless phone convos.

This survey sucked. There were only like 5 basic questions, and then they just kept repeating them with different wording.

That's how all psych tests work.

31.

Mainly because I've always hated social interaction--especially as it's "unscripted": I feel like there ought to be a logic behind what to say and I'm lost w/o it--which is consistent w/ Asperger's

However, I've always had a strong--probably too strong--imagination, which isn't typical of autism. Actually my "socially inept but extremely imaginative and intelligent" background reminds me a lot of Calvin (of comic strip fame) and probably is a big reason why I like C+H so much.
