Re: Quarterback controversy Polls
[ QUOTE ]
1) Wow, that's really tough - both QBs are playing great. It's probably about the same. In the long run, they're obviously better off with the younger Rivers. [/ QUOTE ] One thing that needs to be considered is Rivers is quite a bit cheaper than Brees, so the Chargers might be better off this year even if Brees is the better QB. |

Re: Quarterback controversy Polls

I honestly feel that because he is an african-american QB that happens to not be extremely swift on his feet everyone automatically assumes he is slow. [/ QUOTE ] I think he actually is slow, though. He ran a 5.1 40 at his pro day IIRC. |

Re: Quarterback controversy Polls

Maybe if the poll said, "Through week 10, which QB besides Peyton Manning has played the best this year?" [/ QUOTE ] From a fantasy perspective, McNabb is way beyond Manning. From a real game perspective, it's Manning, but it's a lot closer than you would think. |

From a fantasy perspective, McNabb is way beyond Manning. [/ QUOTE ] I don't think McNabb has ever had a year where he was worth more fantasy-wise then Peyton. I think Peyton has done a tiny bit better this year so far too (at least he is in front by two points in my league). |

From a fantasy perspective, McNabb is way beyond Manning. [/ QUOTE ] We're talking real value here. Fantasy is a pretty awful metric to use for real value. [ QUOTE ] From a real game perspective, it's Manning, but it's a lot closer than you would think. [/ QUOTE ] Who is even remotely close to Manning? Quarterbacks DPAR: Manning: 93.4 Bulger: 70.2 McNabb: 64.4 Brees: 52.4 Huard: 51.4 Rivers: 48.6 |

Re: Quarterback controversy Polls
It's due to ESPN rewarding rushing TDs and rushing yards more than yahoo leagues who in mine reward more for yards and makes passing tds = rushing tds.

Re: Quarterback controversy Polls
1. Same - In the long run, they'll be better off with Rivers. But as of this season, they'd have a similar record.
2. Campbell - Brunell is old and the Redskins season is pretty much done for. Might as well get Campbell in now with the Redskins not knowing how to score. 3. True - They brought Ben back too early from his injuries during the preseason and should not have played him immediately after the concussion 4. False - Warner was only a temporary holdover. Their season is going downhill and they paid millions for Leinart to be their starting QB. Might as well let him get some experience in since they aren't getting into the playoffs. 5. Huard - I have never been a big fan of advocating a QB losing his job because of injury, but Huard is playing too well to bench now. He's got the hot hand and the Chiefs are playing pretty well. Keep him in until he cools down. 6. Manning - And it's not even close 7. Pennington - And it's not even close 8. True - The fact that they seriously thought that Brooks would be a good starting QB for them was idiocy. 9. Garrard - Garrard has a solid winning record as QB. Granted, he had a bad game last week, but he is capable of leading a winning team. Leftwich has a ton of talent, but hasn't really panned out ever since he was drafted. 10. Harrington - I don't think either of them will be a starter two years from now, but Culpepper is not the same QB. |

Re: Quarterback controversy Polls
[ QUOTE ]
People who think Brees is better for San Diego than Rivers short or long term are crazy. The best you could argue is that they would produce similar results this year. [/ QUOTE ] I took Brees in the poll as SD will be in the playoffs and given two similar producing QBs i'm going with the more experienced one for a shot at the SB. |
