Re: The Most Retarded Things People Do For $$$
My ex was an egg donor five times. Yes, she made money from it, but she did it more for the pleasure of seeing childless couple able to have children, thanks to her. She even went back once and donated to the same couple for free, when the first go around did not produce a viable pregnancy.
It's not that risky, although it does come with some risk, of course. This is an incredible thing for couples who cannot have children on their own, but want to experience childbirth. I can understand your ignorance of the subject matter, but not your stupidity and attitude towards it. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] This is so ridiculous I had to post it. Friend of mine intends to sell an egg from her uterus for $7000 or so. Young professional, greedy as ever, and seems absolutely deadset on going through with this. Dunno the inherent risks to doing so, but I would assume there are some for this procedure. Another mutual friend of ours says it's no worse than a guy jerking into a cup, this still sounds way crazier. Anyone got any other examples? [/ QUOTE ] It seems to me that at $7,000/egg every young woman in the trailer parks would be doing this if it were easy. [/ QUOTE ] It's not that easy... you have to quit drinking/smoking/etc and take hormones for months, gain weight, emotional changes, etc... not a picnic. [/ QUOTE ] no, it is not easy. Egg donor programs have a rigorous screening process - candidates almost always must be healthy, young and not so financially strapped that donating eggs becomes their livlihood. And for the record, my ex made anywhere from $9000 to $12,000 per procedure. They also harvest anywhere between 12 and 24 eggs at a time. |

I think I'm going to camp out for a PS3 for 24 hours just to make a grand.
