Re: Lotus Elise/Exige
Frills, check this out: http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...us/index1.html
The car keeps up with a $200k Ferrari, whips a Porsche, and matches a Z06. (Guids, the Z06 has 400+hp!) :Edit: Plus, I don't know if you have any interest, but there's a healthy and growing aftermarket for the car. 300whp+ is not an unreasonable goal. |

Plus there is always this option Aftermarket??? [/ QUOTE ] haha Beat me to it. The engine inside the Lotus has actually been in production since 1999, where it was engineered by Yamaha, and born in a Toyota shell. The aftermarket for the car is very healthy, ranging from blowers to turbos, to simple bolt ons. |

Re: Lotus Elise/Exige
I would say the Exige out of the two, lotus always had really bad problems with relibility but think they may have ironed them out on these cars.
If want a Fast british mad sportscar look at TVR's as well. |

They ironed out the issues by using a Celica GT:S engine and transmission

Re: Lotus Elise/Exige
horsepower isn't the holy grail of numbers
the MINI S raced STOCK in the UNLIMITED class against 800hp souped-up mustangs and anything else people wanted to put together in the UNLIMITED class and won the Targa Newfoundland, which is 2200km long the elise will outhandle any other street legal car in the US and will be one of the fastest off the line as well it's only 'problems' are lack of comfort (it's built for racing, not cruising) and it's not a daily driver |
