Thanks, but I don't think that's it. I believe this song was before "eye in the sky". I think it was from the early seventies. It sounds almost space-like and is all instrumental. I wish I could describe it better. I'm on a mission now to find it for my iPod. I'll post back here when I do.

I'm another old guy, but have any of you ever heard how Springsteen used to intro into Because The Night in the '70's. Clearly his best guitar work ever. Youtube has several clips of the song from that era. Check it out!

There's an Alan Parson's Project song that I used to think was the best intro ever. I can't remember the name of the song (it's not the one the Chicago Bulls used to use, although that's a great intro too). [/ QUOTE ] You sure it was APP? I thought it was Rush. Cool intro. b |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] There's an Alan Parson's Project song that I used to think was the best intro ever. I can't remember the name of the song (it's not the one the Chicago Bulls used to use, although that's a great intro too). Another that comes to mind is "Dance on a Volcano" by Genesis. [/ QUOTE ] Games People Play? "Where do we go from here, now that all of our children are grown up..." [/ QUOTE ] That was one of their more commercial numbers (although decent as well). No, the one I'm thinking of is probably not as well known. It starts out very soft with just a syntheziser (keyboards), then drums enter to add kind of an off beat, then organ for melody all the while building in crescendo (sp?). In fact, I think it's an all instrumental tune. I don't think there are any lyrics to this song. It's also one of the older songs I believe. I wish I could remember the friggin name!! Thanks anyway. [/ QUOTE ] "Fire on high" is the name of the tune. Best intros : Yes - "Close to the Edge" and "Heart of the sunrise" and it doesn't even scratch the surface of awesome Yes songs; Pink Floyd - a ton of stuff; Santana some of the older stuff; a number of Van Halen tunes (Didn't see "Hot for Teacher" mentioned)... |
