Re: QQ headsup
[ QUOTE ]
WTF is with everyone saying Mafews is tight and straightforward? Have you actually played him HU or are you basing this on his full-ring play? HU he is creative and very capable of making moves, even in full-ring I wouldn't call him tight. [/ QUOTE ] FeelNothin...I never said he was tight and straightforward. Like you said, HU far from it. I just think in general, he gets his money in with the best of it especially in hands like this. |

No one seemed to be alittle worried about that re-reraise call pf there. Seems to me he played his AA well.

Re: QQ headsup
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Mafews is probably the single player I've railed most in the last 12-18 months. I've watched thousands upon thousands of hands of Mafews and it is very rare he's making a play like this without the goods. I could be mistaken. He's a massive massive online winner and he maintains that by putting his money in when he's got the best of it. I know that doesn't help with the specific hand you posted but hopefully it'll help in the future when you face another decision against Maf. GL. [/ QUOTE ] WTF is with everyone saying Mafews is tight and straightforward? Have you actually played him HU or are you basing this on his full-ring play? HU he is creative and very capable of making moves, even in full-ring I wouldn't call him tight. [/ QUOTE ] I played a lot more with Mafews in PLO than in NL on party, but generally what Intendere said is correct, i.e. he will have the goods when he makes a raise most of the time. But as the other poster said, he is also definitely capable of making a move and even sometimes appearing laggy even on a FR table. And he also likes to slowplay. But when he makes a move it is generally on a later street and not the flop. So it really doesn't pay to try to value bet him excessively on the end unless you would welcome a raise, as he will either fold or raise. So although I wouldn't like to have checked 2 streets in position anytime, I might have here, although if I bet I would call a raise. |

Re: QQ headsup
[ QUOTE ]
am i the only one who thinks villain didnt play his hand well? [/ QUOTE ] The hand is perfectly played by both until the river. Villains check is awful, compared to that Hero's bet is awful too. I will check that river prob. 95% of the time... |
