I apologize if I offended you, JP, let me attempt to explain. I found it all quite funny because of the absurdity. Sure, we're poking fun at the idea of a gay-oriented poker room, but also at extreme bigotry.
The idea that AIDS is the "gay disease" is archaic and nobody in their right mind still believes this. The connections between AIDS and homosexuality that most of us grew up learning are largely mythical. Therefore, it is a sterotype reasonably acceptable to fool around with. IMO, saying something like, 'HAHA, your government and fellow citizens don't respect you or your right to be legally married!!" is much more harsh than saying, "HAHA yall got teh AIDS cuz ur gay!!" The latter is so preposterous and absurd as to be funny, whereby a big portion of the joke is on the teller. That said, IM SORRY 4 OFFENDING UR [censored] AZZ!!
