Since the release of the song, idiot white college kids like the OP use it in random situations. This is not an example of the meaning of the phrase changing, it's an example of idiots misusing a phrase they heard on the radio. Idiots do stupid things, for further evidence consult the rest of this terrible, terrible thread.
