Not really. They probably assumed he was her bf. What should they have done? Stopped anyone from touching her? He'd have probably said he was her bf/brother and nothing would have happened differently.

i was thinking this too, but then the same people who knew this also seem to know that the guy questioning them was the girl's bf, so they should be doing something about it.

As jaydub's post illustrated, its not that surprising that no one stopped him. Most people prolly didn't realize they didn't come together and even if they did know otherwise he wasn't just some random guy, people knew who he was and people don't expect people they know to be rapists.
