I think you should take your friend along and buy him drinks meals for the entire trip. Perhaps give him up to 5% of your action in the tournament. You earned the freeroll him playing it for you shouldn't be worth much more than the actual value of the freeroll. But since you are friends and it would be a fun trip I say take him along and pay for everything. I really don't think he should get any of your action, but I would give him a little just for fun.

I think most people in this thread are telling you to give him way too much.

50% of your action and $3k seems fair to me..

[/ QUOTE ]

No way, 50% is way too high. If you give him the full 3K cash, I don't see how he's entitled to more than 20-30% of the ME action.

[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly since he does not need to spend his time playing it.

Bottom line is take him no the trip share the 3k and give him 25% max.

[/ QUOTE ]

Man, I mean come to think of it, if you're giving him the 3K and taking him to Australia, I'm not sure he deserves any of your main event action. Maybe 10% as a thank you gesture, but really 3K cash + a trip to the other end of the world is wonderful compensation for playing one stupid freeroll.

[/ QUOTE ]

but apparently not playing one stupid freeroll deserves so much more

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't get it....

[/ QUOTE ]

He's saying Larry David didn't play the freeroll, but is getting much more than his friend in a sarcastic manner.

Which is obviously nonsense.

The funniest thing is that this is the sort of situation the real Larry David might find himself in. (See Sour Grapes).

Im thinking most people here are insane and suggesting the amount because they see themselves as possibly on the friend side of this equation. It's a different story if Larry said "hey man I cant play this could you play it for me". Then I would agree to a decent piece. It is, however, rediculous to take the initiative to use his friends account and then expect huge compensation. If he gets a free trip out of it thats a great reward for something he had no investment in. Some ppl in here are saying almost give him more than you keep for yourself when its YOUR account. Speaking of Larry David this reminds me of the ep of curb where his attorney proofreads his script without asking and then charges him for it. He SHOULD recieve a small thank you gift for his trouble, either going with you or a small piece, but he does not deserve an even split or anything like that.

You stated you earned the freeroll by playing so many hands.
1)3k split down middle
2) you said you couldnt take your friend but then you state its a trip for 2 (???) taking wife/girfriend? if so see 3
3) You take trip and entry into main event since your friend had to know he couldnt play it if he won. You state its a good friend. If so money doesnt mean much, and if you cash split the me winnings down the middle.
