Lawrence of Arabia
Schindler's List
The Shawshank Redemption
The Godfather I
American Beauty

Just saw American Beauty for the first time last week and I really enjoyed it. It and The Godfather could probably be other movies, though. The other three are set.

This thread is reminding me how badly I want to see Little Miss Sunshine.

i grew up in a strict christian household and we were not allowed to watch anything even borderline offensive. it was not until 2002 when i moved out that i started watching movies. sorry for not being as cultured as you.

Sublime,

Sorry your parents abused you. How did you come about the name, surely it wasn't oblivious to the band?

i was not abused physically. the cat was, but not me.

i was introduced to sublime the band in early 2003 and immediately fell in love. i felt taking on the bands name as my online handle was the least i could do, for the lyrics opened up my eyes.

In no particular order

1.American History X
2.American Beauty
3.Old Boy
4.City Of God
5.Donnie Darko

If someone has similar tastes, you could find something good to watch.

[/ QUOTE ]

I either hate or love you. You have stolen my top 2.

1. American History X
2. American Beauty
3. Taegukgi (Brotherhood of war)
4. Kingdom of Heaven - directors cut
5. Silence of the Lambs

Honorable mentions: The Shawshank Redemption, City of god, Gladiator

Added note (from edit) i've never seen the godfather and also:

Only the top-1 is ordered and i put american beauty in the top3 somwhere.

you can flame away for my pick on #4. And you can flame away on my pick for #3 because i'm disrespecting a possibly better south korean flick

I guess jodie foster and anthony hopkins destroying of the academy awards can't stand up to another one of paul walker's brilliant performances. or kevin space's unforgettable quotes in the shower! 2 fast 2 furious was the greatest movie ever!

If I wasn't 100% sure you were joking about your movie choices, I might stop watching TV forever
