AUGUST: Goals, Challenges, Expectations

Goal:
Play a consistent game operating at the second level with good reads.

Challenge:
Maintain at least 4PTBB/100 while two tabling.

Expectation:
Play 15K hands. Get to NL100.

Goal:
Start playing better poker.

More specifically I want to apply some of the ideas in NLHETAP. I'm finding the book pretty good. I got it through a Stars FPP deal and to be honest, wasn't expecting that much. It's not a how to manual and can be a bit dry, but it is very thought provoking.

Challenge:
To have at least 2 or 3 days a week, when I can review every major hand I played and honestly believe I either made the most or lost the least.

Expectation:
I'm going to have more days where this doesn't happen.

Rebuild my roll:

- Beat FTP NL25 for 16 PTBB/100, move up to NL50 @ BR=$750
- Beat NL50 for 8 PTBB/100, move up to NL100 @ BR=$1500
- Beat NL100 for 6 PTBB/100, move up to NL200 @ BR=$3000

Get active in MSNL more.

Don't make so many mistakes in big pots.

Challenges:

I'm severely underrolled. It's not messing me up though, becasue 1) I can get more money if I go busto, and 2) I know I won't go busto. I feel like I'm so much better than my opponents, I'd have to be unlucky in Hellmuthian proportions to go bust.

I don't have a lot of spare time. this limits my abilioty to play hands, participate on MSNL, and mod SSNL.

I am going to actually start playing poker to improve my game and not just clear bonuses. for the past 5 months i have been playing just to clear bonuses and not really paying attention to the way i play. i recently got pokeroffice and pokertracker and will finally put them to use. I started playing 25NL 2 weeks ago starting with a $200 bankroll. after running at ~6.5ptbb/100 i am at $600.

Onto my goals:

- play 25NL @ 10ptbb/100 and then transition to 50NL when i hit $1000.
- buy and read NLHE:T&P while taking notes
- go to the gym 2 times a week
- play tennis or basketball 2 times a week

challenges:

- build up a 4 buyin stack at a table
- post hands here
- come up with creative responses to posts

expectations:

- play 25NL at 6.5ptbb/100
- have my AA cracked at least 5 times
- get a new job!!

Challenges:

1. Don't pay off river bets when I KNOW I just got sucked out on.
2. Do not tilt.
3. Do not play Donkaments right now. Focus on Cash games and grind it out.

Expectations:

1. Play 60,000 hands of 100NL 6MAX.
2. Earn 2000 dollars.
3. Don't run bad.
