Re: Explain the logic behind this...
I think it's messed up how they allow rap music in the club, but not the culture of the people who create the music.

[/ QUOTE ] Ugh, you said you think it's messed up that the culture isn't allowed into clubs that play the music. Well, the solution is to have them stop selling the music. Otherwise, stop complaining. |

[/ QUOTE ] Dude, I'm not disagreeing with a dress code that's... let's say... banning white or black tees, or hats or bandanas (for gang reasons), but average t-shirts is ridiculous IMO. I would completely understand if the club had a history of altercations, but that's not the case. Do you honestly think this isn't hypcritical? |

The "culture" sold music, the people who "bought" the music can do whatever they want with it (besides sampling ). Your baseball analogy is weak, a better example would be you want to watch the baseball game at a bar. The bar is in hollywood. They require a suit and tie to get in. Oh well, you can't get in with your jersey... next time pick a little more casual bar. |

In the last 2 years I've been to this club WEAPONS HAVE NEVER BEEN AN ISSUE, I've never even seen a fight there. It's a very chill club. [/ QUOTE ] Maybe the dress code is part of the reason why weapons aren't an issue at this club(?) Edit: My post is directed at OP. |

Re: Explain the logic behind this...
[ QUOTE ]
(let me stress the fact they've rarely if EVER had any altercations) [/ QUOTE ] Maybe this is because they keep people out who dress a certain way. [ QUOTE ] What do they want the club to look like? [/ QUOTE ] They don't necessarily want the club to look a certain way. They want to make money. When the club I worked at first opened the only thing we didn't allow was hats. After being open about six weeks we started enforcing a fairly strict dress code. (No hats, t-shirts, sweatsuits, baggy clothing, tennis shoes, jerseys). After enforcing a stricter dress code we started seeing more money in the registers at the end of the nights. What we found is that most people that were dressed in clothes that didn't fit the dress code just didn't spend as much as everyone else. |
