Re: ESPN\'s survey on toughest sport, most inaccurate report ever?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] And how did wrestling only get a "5" for nerve? NERVE - The ability to overcome fear. Example: High-board divers, race-car drivers, ski jumpers. ah now i see, no wrestlers in the "panel of experts". [/ QUOTE ] I love how they distinguished between the nerve required for bowling as opposed to the nerve required for fishing. Does either sport require any nerve at all? (FTR: I'm a bowler, but I've never fished in my life.) [/ QUOTE ] Considering many people fish to relax, I don't see the nerve factor either. Maybe it comes into play when they come home and explain to the little lady what they've been doing all day. [/ QUOTE ] Well if you can't swim it's gonna take some nerve to go fishing, right? |

Re: ESPN\'s survey on toughest sport, most inaccurate report ever?
[ QUOTE ]
Rodeo: Steer Wrestling at number 15 with only a 7.88 for nerve? Your telling me that tackling a [censored] cow doesn't take as much nerve as skiing? I've gone skiing, there is no [censored] way i am wrestling a cow. Ohh yeah and wrestling - Nerve, 5.00, base ball 5.13, cycling 5.88, doesn't seem right at all. [/ QUOTE ] Baseball - you have a hard object being thrown at you at close to 100 mph. Cycling - try descending a mountain in the rain at 50 mph in the middle of a pack of 50 riders. Wrestling - I think there's much less potential for life-changing injury (or death) |
