I like GNU ("GNU's not Unix").
Here's some nerdy humor on the recursiveness of it: http://www.gnu.org/fun/jokes/gnu-overflow.html There's also a piece of software called YACC which stands for Yet Another Compiler Compiler |

[ QUOTE ] It was from a solid 8.5 hooker in bellagio when I asked what she offered... I laughed and then took her to my room.. (although I did use protection) safety always first... [/ QUOTE ] OOC, what was the going rate for 8.5's in vegas? [/ QUOTE ] I paid a nickel... mind you I am a vert strict grader.. 8.5 is pretty much the top possible score. |

At a place I once worked, folks often used to refer to stuff that wasn't working as Tango Uniform (Titties Up), but I thought that wasn't descriptive enough for some of the things that went wrong. So I created BUS (Buns Up Squealing), kinda a "Deliverance" reference. It really caught on.
My favorite acronym story was when our boss was having a meeting with his boss, and didn't know what an acronym was that was in so many of our activity reports for the test stands. "What does M/T stand for?" he asked. I tried my best not to giggle as I explained, "Ah, that means empty, sir. It is what it sounds like, the test stand was empty." Shauna |
