There are obviously many ways to do so, but once we start getting to HU to HU games, BCS appearances(which often depend on other teams losing), bowl game wins, etc, etc, it becomes nearly impossible. Trying to keep it simple. This is a really, really close top 10, not 1 team is way ahead of another. FSU is easily the best team winning wise in the past decade despite their shaky years. They also have a NC & a NC loss which is better than everyone but USC. They could easily be #1 but I think we have to bring them down some because of how weak the ACC was and that when they actually got in a tougher conference they have struggled. |

OU has won 1 plus played for two others (in years that they destroyed TX). |

FSU 2. OSU 3. USC 4. OK 5. Michigan 6. Texas 7. Florida 8. Miami 9. Nebraska 10. Tennesse (really up for grabs at 10, but i just figure the vols should get the nod here) |

Re: Top 10 College Football teams of the last decade
Yeah, I have to agree that over the past 10 years OU > than Texas. I think it's easier to weigh the past few years more heavily, but over the majority of this time OU was clearly better.
EDIT: I'm a little confused about the support for Miami. I think there is a case for actually leaving them out. You should not weigh five years of dominance more than five years of mediocrity. |

Re: Top 10 College Football teams of the last decade
Surprisingly enough, they are 5-5 L10, but TX won in 97-99 when both were pretty much irrelevant. This fact makes me want to rethink having them this high on our top 10 list. I think you have to rank teams like Michigan higher than both.

Re: Top 10 College Football teams of the last decade
Good list, I think Miami is far too low though despite their issues lately. One of only a few with a NC win & a NC loss plus a winning record over your #2 team & dominance until the last 3 years over them.

Re: Top 10 College Football teams of the last decade
agreed, I think we forget that Miami was USC before USC was USC. They were really f'n good. Their 00-02 teams were sick despite winning only one championship. Just think if they had Butch all those years. They were a machine. Of course, you could say the same thing about Nebraska if Osborne hadn't left.
