I don't know much about Velvet Underground, but did they really clinch three years in that incredible era of music?

Of course they didn't clinch it - but they were probably in the top 5 for 4 years (they almost made it in 69, too).

1972 - Eat A Peach
1973 - Dark Side of the Moon or Houses of the Holy
1979 - Breakfast In America
1986 - Graceland
1987 - Joshua Tree
1991 - Nevermind (but I'd just as easily take Blood Sugar Sex Magik)
1994 - The Blue Album (Weezer)
1996 - Sublime

The Velvet Underground is really good and I think their best was their first CD, but no way would I give that year to them. 67 is Sgt. Pepper's.

lol Sgt. Pepper's. I love the Beatles but their albums always have a couple stinkers.

1965:Highway 61 Revisited

add another vote for Blood on the Tracks for '75.

I guarantee the guy putting down Desire as the 1976 choice has never listened to it. That album is Dylan's best IMO.

I'll concede 66 to Pet Sounds as it was more innovative than Blonde on Blonde, as good of an album as that is.
