Hey Justin,

I don't know how much I like your play based on the above description, but you were there and knew the player and I wasn't. Just wanted to point out though that if you tried this turn play against a REAL thinking player who'd played with for a bit, you get 4bet so hard.

maybe i'm wrong, but i'm 3-gassing 33 here preflop just about always. [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

I should have clarified. I think I should have used "trying to play well" instead of "thinking". The point was that I think he'll be able to fold when he thinks I've got a big hand, whereas other players in the game will mindlessly call down.

I would not have tried this play against someone who's play I respect. To prove my point, I told Doug what I had later, and he said he was pretty sure I was weak when I 3bet.

The value of 3-betting depends on how likely this opponent is to raise a lone Ace or draw on the turn.

Many players won't raise the turn with less than two pair. It's not good to 3-bet these kind of players because they usually call down.

Im almost never coldcalling the the sb, but that doesnt mean a lot of players dont do it. All im saying is that i doubt our opponent has that good a read on my sb play to narrow my range that well.
