Re: Does anyone here lose at poker?

I've met at least two people at the tables that told me they were 2+2ers and were terrible and definitely not long-term winners (one of them admitted to currently being on a 15 buy-in "downswing". lol losing players don't have downswings, they have upswings). The majority of 2+2ers seem pretty solid though. [/ QUOTE ] Ever cross your mind that the 15 buy-in downswing guy MAY have been on tilt Not that that's an excuse of course I win... a bit.. at $11 and $22 sngs, occasional MTT. About 40% of my winnings come from bonuswhoring though. Been playing real money online for only 5.5 months, live for about 8 (mostly a weird limit/no limit hybrid though in the beginning), so my sample size is pretty small. Probably up about $1200 in that time. |

Re: Does anyone here lose at poker?
Many people who lose at poker would never read a strategy website with any consistency, even though they know it exists.

probably like 80% of 2p2ers lose at poker [/ QUOTE ] This is about what I think. Obviously, this is for all 2p2ers. If you go to a strategy forum and take a sample of all the active posters I would imagine most of them are winning. And yeah to answer someone's question, there's a lot more to becoming a winning player than reading a poker book or 2. For me, the toughest obstacles to winning consistently have been completely unrelated to strategy (playing while tired, playing while distracted, tilt, monkey-tilt, super monkey-tilt with bananas growing out of my head, etc.) |

Re: Does anyone here lose at poker?
I'm a loser at poker as well as at life in general.
I keep playing poker anyway because I have nothing better to do, and I have a decent day job to finance the deposits. I keep living only because it would really hurt my mother if I died. |
