Too bad they didn't deport him before he killed an old lady by driving like a wreckless idiot during a thunderstorm.

I wouldnt necessarily call him a child molester - the fact that it was a misdemeanor crime leads me to believe that this possible "annoyance of a child" charge could have been something along the lines of slapping a 15year old on the butt or something. I dont know, and without some specific knowledge, I'd suggest not calling a man a "child molestor."

Wow, the immigration system is very efficient. A decade later they take action, sounds like someone is settling a grudge.

2. Child Annoyance: On Sunday, April 8, 2001, the suspect befriended the victim, offered him a
ride home and engaged the victim in a conversation about having sex. When they arrived at the
victim's home the suspect asked the victim if his parents were home. After the victim responded
"yes", the suspect told him, "Don't tell them about our conversation - you know how parents can
be." The suspect stated "It was really nice meeting you" and drove away. The victim went inside
his apartment and notified his parents.

Police confirm two child annoyance incidents

By Joanne Griffith Domingue / Town Crier Staff Writer

Los Altos police have confirmed that there have been two recent incidents of a heavy-set blond woman approaching a child and inviting the child to go with her.

"These are child annoyance cases," said Los Altos Police Chief Lucy Carlton, of the latest incident, May 20 at McKenzie Park, and the May 5 incident at a Los Altos Hills home. These are not attempted kidnappings. "Not one person has touched a child," Carlton said.

Detectives identified 11 students who came forward with various allegations against Rollins, the sergeant said.

Rollins is accused of making sexual comments to students while touching them on the outside of their clothing, which is a misdemeanor crime, DeLuna said. A misdemeanor is a crime for which a person can receive a maximum sentence of a year in county jail.

by the time served it sounds a little more serious than these examples but people get harsh sentences sometimes for odd reasons, so you never know

This is BS, no matter what the actual circumstances of the misdemeanor were. He was found guilty by the court, and he served time in jail and probation. THAT'S IT, it's over. You can't go arrest him over a decade later and say "oh wait, now we wanna deport you for that crime you were already punished for."

No, it sounds like a politician or someone at DHS is trying to get their name in the headlines to advertise how their so "tough on crime" in order to advance their career. Probably using some draconian law that was passed following 9/11.

This will be an interesting case. Sheik has a really good attorney.

How do you think ICE determined to go after Sheik after 12 years have passed ? It searches through old court records looking for someone to deport for two crimes involving "moral turpitude".

Keep in mind this fell under the Department of Homeland Security. Think Sheik's ethnicity had anything to do with this prosecution ?

Keep in mind also he is in the US legally, is married, has a daughter, owns a home and owns successful retail businesses.

Would a misdemeanor charge be a deportable offense for other underlying conduct ? What if the charge had been smoking pot or, online gambling ? What constitutes "moral turpitude" ? Is the crime, comitting an act of moral turpitude while being Iranian ?

I cannot stand Sheik, but where is the line drawn .... is it an open ticket back to wherever to get a misdemeanor ? Will this mean "legal" immigrants of Iranian or Arabic descent who get two misdemeanors can be deported ?
