Also as my previous posts imply it is imperative that everyone post their correct peeks every day and not FPS them even if you suspect that you are a real seer and may get eaten for posting it (Luckay I am talking to you). [/ QUOTE ]Hmmm... the question is, who gets the greater information advantage if we all pool our data? I'm leaning against this being a good idea but I'm not sure yet. If they're not finding out who we peeked until after we did it, they can't mess it up. I'll have to think about it. |

Sorry to hear you're running bad. I have no idea what that's like. Oh, this Neil Stevens character is pretty funny. |

[ QUOTE ] I think it might be best if we just peek who we think might be getting lynched in the next few days. We aren't going to have any useful information until we can start putting peeks together with lynches, and if we all peek different people than that assures that we get the least amount of information about who is useful. But its still going to take at least 2, and possibly 3 or more lynches of people that we have seen before we can figure anything out about ourselves. [/ QUOTE ] I think this is wrong - we should be following pretty normal seer strategy and peeking people that we expect to be alive near endgame. Since we don't have role reveal on death we don't actually ever have 100% peeked anything because we can't KNOW that someone is a real seer or an insane seer - they could just be a useless seer that ran well. The best information the village can have about anyone at endgame is that someone is either more likely or less likely to be a wolf based on previous peeks and the more times that player has been peeked the more likely we are to draw an accurate conclusion. [/ QUOTE ] The problem that I have with this is that we then can't determine who the real/insane seers are if everyone is trying to find people for the endgame. Obviously in practice, some of our picks are getting lynched or killed before then.... You think that we will never be able to determine who the real/insane ones are, but I don't think thats true. If you are useless, its not a 50/50 shot, but even if it was that means to be right 3 straight times is only a 12.5% chance. But in actuality, an useless peeks based on a percentage of who is remaining, so I think after 3 peeks and corresponding lynches, we can start to have a pretty good idea. How useful this is going to be early in the game though I don't know, since obviously we want our seers sticking around. You might be right... |

The only way that the village will ever get any useful information this game is by compiling peeks and figuring out who could be what kind of seer. |

if i'm reading durron's rules right, the possible seer allocations are:
Code:

normal plus insane paranoid plus naive useless 8 10 6 7 12 5 6 12 6 5 12 7 4 14 6 3 14 7 2 14 8

|

The rogue agents have just as much information we do on who's going to get lynched the next few days. If we try to predict, then they can use their powers to try to mess us up by making the same predictions. Trying to gain an info advantage quickly is tempting, to be sure, but we can't do it in a way that lets those pesky rogue agents trap us. [/ QUOTE ] I think this is a very good point and wasn't something that I had thought about. But early in the game, the chances of them actually blocking someone seem pretty remote. |

Re: Hacker Attack (All Info Game Thread - Feb 19 Start)
DMK's idea won't work because no one has useful information until we have killed a wolf and a villager. If we just kill two people by popular acclaim (which will never happen anyway), they are fairly likely to be villagers. So we have all peeked them and most of us will show them as wolf/wolf or villager/villager. That doesn't narrow down anyone's role very much.
I think we play normally for the first few days and try to lynch a wolf. If you get a wolf response from your peek I would then either peek yourself or a dead villager to see if they come back 'villager'. That is the easiest way to narrow down the type of seer you are. You could still be useless under that scenario, but you are more likely to be a straight seer or insane which is almost as good. |
