Actually I think calling with the intention of shoving on a blank river is pretty sick.

Thoughts?

[/ QUOTE ]

In general I agree, but there are so many bad cards that can hit on the river, and this guy isn't that great, and it's Button vs blind, so I just wanna raise here and get the money in. A less connected board is where I'd prefer just calling the turn and shoving a blank river.

Shove. Who cares if he folds 2 pair? He might fold the T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Basically, you need to protect your hand vs. any [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img],T,Q,A or 5, all of which are terrible for you or your action anyway.

Maybe you should be semi-bluffing a LOT more if this isn't an obvious push for you.

This may sound stupid, but when Im confused with a strong hand, I usually just push.

If the flop went c/c then he c/r the turn you should be more worried. As played I don't see why you think he doesn't have AT/55/TT type hands...do you expect him to c/r the flop then just check the turn with those hands? Raise now because he won't fold sets, maybe not even two pair.
