Um, I am not an expert, but I would think a property that size in RPV would go for a lot more than that. Whether it's 5x more or 10x more, I'm not sure.

did you guys notice that it's 100yds from the ocean?

just to compare- in san francisco 2M can get you a ranch style 3000 sq ft home in a nice neighborhood. in so.cal it's not much different, in fact, sometimes more expensive.

barry's house had to be >5000 sq. ft.

i think in his book he said he wanted to buy the house across the street, and it was 20M, but then he did something stupid and couldnt afford it.

i doubt it's less than 10M, and probably around 12M, especially with the improvements.

Barry I think its a great accomplishment that you were able to build something that grand from money you earned from your profession. It is most people's dream to accomplish the same.

However, i am going to have to side with those people who werent that impressed with the interior design of the house.
I think the bathroom/living room idea is kind of tacky. The columns in the house looked out of place. And the red carpeting was too striking. However if you like it, that is all that matters isnt it? I guess i am more used to the European taste in interior design, which might be vastly different than the one in the west coast.

Barry's taste is obviously going to be different than that of the mainstream upper class. He explained very well that he has spent a lot of time in casinos and that's where the design ideas came from. saying "this is my world." I can't think of a single reason someone shouldn't make their own decisions when it comes to designing their place of residence, even though that may mean offending the petty sensibilities of some people on the internet.

I mean, he has his family are the ones that lives there you know.

I haven't even clicked the link, but based on this thread if it's not worth 3x that I'd be shocked. 300k in any area where I assume Barry lives probably gets you a nice 2 bedroom 1 bath condo.
