El Diablo,

I think dumb people who take pride in being dumb are even more annoying.

Southerners?

[/ QUOTE ]

People who think they're funny but really aren't funny at all are just as bad, IMO.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't have a specific label for what it is you're trying to do, but add that to the list.

Your posts here are quite appropriate for the thread topic. Thanks for stopping in.

I think its funny how you beleive that you have enough skill to analyze someones elses intelligence.
my sister is a theater acting freak, but shes smart as hell.
talking to her youd think she was weird and not too smart, but shed [censored] you up taking any test.

so bottom line, people who think they can tell how smart someone is by spending a limited amount of time with them arent likely to be that smart.

There are also plenty of people who live in the south that talk dumb, but are much smarter than most of you.

Alobar,

I consider it a form of conditioning and hope that with enough repetition they will learn to STFU when they don't know what the f they are talking about.

[/ QUOTE ]

yeah, I used to say that too. But for me personally its just a cop out reason. Its like when you cut someone off in traffic who did the same thing to someone else earlier, I can say that Im just serving kharmatic justice or teaching them a lesson, but really im just doing it because it gives me a sense of pleasure. Same thing with ripping on stupid people, whatever reason I come up with it doesnt change the fact that for me Im really just doing it cuz it makes me feel good about myself, and in my quest to become a better person I figured thats something I should try and eliminate.

One thing dumb people who think they are smart do all the time is make observations that are incredibly obvious but act like they are original for coming up with it.

I.E. Do you know whats happening in Darfur?

I think there's a huge difference between being a dick to somebody who is acting like a giant tool and being a dick to somebody who is honestly confused. So I wouldn't feel too bad about your habit.

i agree that in most casual interactions it is difficult to gauge the intelligence of others, but sometimes they'll do something that lets you know they are really smart or really dumb.

Ever been to New Jersey, Long Island, or South Boston?

It amazes me how many people seem to embrace the fact that they aren't intelligent. Most of the people on facebook have "wut iz a book" or something similar listed as Favorite Books.
