BBV roll call: Who got into poker bc of "Rounders"? - Page 4

I saw Rounders on dutch TV and started googling for pokersites. First I got some crappy site, then I found Party. Not long after that I deposited $100 on Pacific and got 2 poker books for that (some promotion). The books led me to 2+2 I think.

Anthony Holden's book, Big Deal got me interested in poker, and provoked me into watching Late Night Poker and reading other books, but it was reading James McManus's Positively Fifth Street that made me decide to learn the game.

If a fish like him could do that well in the World Series, surely anything was possible.

i thought everyone started cuz of rounders?

seriously tho that movie [censored] up my thinking about poker for so long. 2 parts still annoy me now 1) " i couldnt lose" 2) he 4 bets johnny chan in a high stakes limit game with rags and chan folds wtf that never would ever happen.

um, they're both bluffing the river and chan finally believes him but can't call with his J-high that he 3-bet bluffed?

No, I got the DVD a couple of months ago because everyone keeps mentioning the movie. But I started posting on 2+2 because of Rounders, does that count for anything?

I've seen rounders prolly 20-30 times and I never noticed it was limit. Funny thing I was just wondering how he was running 6k for an hour at 300/600 last time I saw it a week ago or so.

If that bugs you what about when he has KK against KGB first hand and he raises to 2k with 10k stacks with low blinds and kgb raises to half his stack and than folds?

EDIT: Oh and yeah I got into poker from Rounders.
