Re: 2550 vs Poopers
I don't think the flop check is horrible, but I agree that bet/folding is probably better. I looked him up and he had 910o no heart.

Bet-folding the flop to me seems like the worst type of cookie-cutter play you could come up with. [/ QUOTE ] agreed. |

Bet-folding the flop to me seems like the worst type of cookie-cutter play you could come up with. [/ QUOTE ] It's just realistic. If you wanna check fold or check raise, fine, bend the cookie cutter. As most players have said, check-calling vs. poopers, or just about any winning 25/50 player is asking for trouble. There is nothing wrong with betting a hand that can't be called by worse in this spot. |

[/ QUOTE ] Given that poopers is calling the reraise with T9 and that he's betting the flop, I think that it is not unreasonable at all to assume that a)his range is very wide for calling the reraise preflop and b)he is betting the vast majority of that range when checked to. And therefore, betting is simply burning cash. And I dont think that you are going to be put in SUCH a -EV situation on the turn/river to outweigh the +EV you get from c/c'ing the flop, which seems to be what people are arguing. |

I think a lot of people confuse getting put in a realllllly tough spot with being put in a really -ev spot. [/ QUOTE ] check/calling this flop is obv a weak play by the 3 bettor pre flop, and he's probably facing and all in bet close to 100% i would imagine if he checks the following street(s) So he's gonna be faced with a tough decision with a weak hand, alot. Like you said tough decisions and - ev plays are different, but dont -ev plays occur on a more frequent basis when you are put in a tough situation. basically, i prefer check/folding the flop, against poopers, who isnt gonna be too spewy post - flop, if i do call i get it in prob 90%+ |
