WTF can 28 dollars a month get a kid? Do you know how it's delivered?

[/ QUOTE ]

I send my sponsored children $200, three times a year. I send it directly to CI. They have over 400 coordinators around the world who will handle the money and buy what the children need.

I send:
$200 when school starts for school supplies and clothes.
$200 before Christmas for holiday presents and warmer clothes.
$200 in the spring for anything that might help them through the summer.

I have visited some of them, but not most. All of them have written me and I have not been as diligent as I should be about writing back. Watch the Jack Nicholson movie "About Schmidt" for a realistic but funny idea of how the process works.
