If you say so. I would typically just bet this flop but I just feel like if villain goes into the hand thinking "set value" it doesn't really matter when you bet.

edit: and if you really think 44 isn't folding to a turn bet why don't we just autocheck ever flop with an overpair, bet turn, shove river and get snapcalled by fifth pair?

I don't think 47/6 call PF with any plans like playing for set value. Its more like "I has a pair, lets see what happens, oh he's bluffing since he didn't bet the flop!".

About your second point, when did I say anything about 44 not folding to a river bet? The point is that it is easier for him to call turn with a bluff catcher and force us to fire a 2nd barrel, where we won't know whether he has 44/Qx/Jx or better.
