So I'm sweating my roommate yesterday while he plays a $1.10 18 player NL SnG on Stars. He's got the short stack (but still fairly healthy relative the blinds) as it gets down to 6 remaining, and the table has been playing predictably loose/passive. The one time he raised preflop on the FT, he got one caller who check/folded the flop.
Roomie is in the CO & it's folded to him when we look down to see black aces. For the first time in history, I actually believe that he's correct to just limp in with them, in the hopes of doubling up later in the hand. BTN & SB limp behind, BB checks. Flop comes 953, all diamonds. SB leads with a pot-sized bet, BB folds, Roomie is pot committed if he calls so we go with an all in, BTN folds, SB calls after a 3 second or so pause. SB shows 95o & Roomie doesn't improve. I knew there was a reason I hated limping with big hands.

You know, at least learn to lie well.
Played live today, and had a dream lineup. Couldn't really get into a lot of good situations, but then at the end of the session I caught some big pocket pairs that stood up, and I ended up a winner. Anyway, there was this one hand early in the day, I wasn't involved, but a passive player raises, and a horrible player coldcalls.
Flop KQQ. Passive player bets, Horrible player calls, Turn. blank. Same action, River. A, board is now AKQQx. Passive player bets, Horrible player calls again. Passive player shows AK. Horrible player says, 'I got rivered, if you don't catch the Ace, we chop.' I didn't know how bad he was until then, but I figured if he couldn't lie well, then he probably couldn't play very well either. It turned out to be a good predictor of how well he played.

-55 BB (my second worse session ever) +41.25 BB -50 BB +93 BB (my best session ever, previously was +67.25 BB) GrollercoasterG

We still suck at NC threads.
Final 2 of a 1-table SNG. My opponent sucks badly & I have him outchipped 5:1. I opencomplete from the SB with 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. He checks. Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] He pushes, I call. He shows 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Rigged.

Remember in HEFAP when that Sklansky guy was saying how if you flop a set you always want at least one overcard?
Hero is UTG1 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG calls, hero raises, two coldcall, BB calls. flop is 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] BB bets, utg calls, hero raises, everyone calls. turn is 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Check, hero bets, two call, others fold. river is a 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero bets, first guy sighs and calls, second guy think for a little bit and regrettably calls. Seriously. Guessing like A7 and K7?
