Ok you guys are goofy - regardless of what you call it any play that is suboptimal is suboptimal. Any play that is optimal is optimal. I will argue for days with anyone who says Luckay faking seer in SW was suboptimal because it just isn't true. Regardless - any play is either right or it is wrong - stop being results oriented and realize that some plays are good and some plays are bad regardless of results. As a wolf your goal is to stay alive. As a villager your goal is to find wolves AND get yourself night killed. As a seer it is more complicated but basically your goal is to clear up issues that are confusing to the village and stay alive in that order.

Why are we even arguing about this?????? Why don't we spent some more time finding wolves instead. I am here and willing to listen to arguments for people being wolves - I just want an argument not "so and so cleared them via AIM - even if you are so and so.

Everyone has to consider that technically, the most optimal play possible in werewolf is to fake seer, be right, name all the wolves, and have the wolves resign...and then laugh and reveal "lol I'm not really the seer."

Failing that, naming one wolf, or naming a lot of villagers and faking seer is pretty "optimal" play as well. It's HEROIC play.

Until, ya know, you're wrong and the wolves eat you anyway. Huzzah for wasted lynches and a day where nothing is learned so somebody could be the centre of attention for 3 hours.

the good news is if you're up for lynch, and if you name someone that you're nearly sure will be voted off before lynch regardless (and you're sure they're not the seer), it is technically strictly +EV

of course, there needs to be a balance in the amount of villagers who are heroic, or things could get ugly
