Doesn't happen often, but every once in a while, I'll be talking to someone, and I'll suddenly get the impulse to grab their head and begin smashing it into the nearest wall. Strangest part is that the impulse usually occurs to me when I'm talking to a friend very civilly and quietly.

[ QUOTE ] By-Tor, was the satisfaction you got worth it? [/ QUOTE ] all it cost me was a point on my driving record and a dent in my wheel-well, so... Yes. It was very satisfying. [/ QUOTE ] Has age changed that any? What I mean is would you do that again today? |

The first time I ever went to a skeet shooting range I couldn't stop thinking about how if I wanted to I could just turn around and start killing people. I wouldn't say I had an impulse to actually DO it, but it really unnerved me at the time just thinking about it.

asofel,
All the f'in time, all sorts of things. I'll start listing them when I have a BIG CHUNK of free time on my hands. Quick IM chat w/ asofel produced this: man pushing peopel into street is big one subway tracks smashing my car into other cars taking a baby and running away throwing [censored] at people just spitting at people by [censored] i meant not feces, but stuff just breaking [censored] just like taking something and just for absolutely no reason just smashing it to see how people would react lots of issues man lots of issues i think there are three levels of people a) people who dont have any crazy thoughts like this, they are probably kinda dumb b) people like us c) people who cant control them, they are crazy |

[ QUOTE ] To elaborate on my own weird urges: -I've wanted to jump through plate glass windows -Jump off the 2nd level at the local shopping mall -Open the emergency door on an airplane [/ QUOTE ] These all involve heights. Interesting. I have the same issues - like when I'm at the Grand Canyon or something, knowing that I am one stupid decision or slip from death. [/ QUOTE ] Holy crap, they totally do. Thanks, Dr Tuqp! [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] Also, when on boats earlier this year and when on the north shore of Oahu, I had this fantasy of being sucked out to sea or just jumping into the water and seeing how long it would be before I Titanic'd down to the depths. I thought it would be very peaceful. |

This reminds me of something that I do constantly, thought about posting about, but didn't think it deserved an OP. I'll wedge it in here.
Am I the only one that has a near constant internal narration? Like I'm writing and rewriting the text of my life in my head, complete with "what if" scenarios, like what if so-and-so was murdered, or I killed so-and-so, how would I dispose of the body, etc? Not that I have the urge to do it, it's just like constantly writing short-term speculative fiction in my head. Which then brings me to the idea of what if so-and-so REALLY WERE murdered, and the cops came to interview me, I couldn't really say something like, "So I was just imagining what it would be like if I murdered such and such, and wow! Isn't that the damndest coincidence?" So then I'd have to lie, and be hiding something from the cops, and I would look suspicious, and on and on and on. Sometimes it's pretty [censored] up. |

tup,
Ditto for me on those three, as well as related "peer into the abyss and maybe jump off" type stuff. |
