I am manic depressive and take lithium for this condition. I do encounter mild paranoia from time to time, and everytime I get these vague feelings I try and dismiss them as part of my illness and not grounded in reality.

I'm not going to make fun of anyone dealing with a condition like yours. Relax. The casino makes money regardless of who wins or loses individual hands. They install shufflers to turn out more hands per hour and make more rake. They won't endanger the gold mine by manipulating anything, if they got caught it could kill their business. Best wishes, and I hope all is well with you.

There are five B&M casinos in my area. Greektown, Motor City, Windsor, Sarnia, and Mt. Pleasant. I know nothing about Sarnia.

Greektown has 18-20 tables, all of which are NL with timed drag except for 1-2 $3-6 limit games which have rake.

Motor City is the same, except for a few more limit games, maybe 4-5.

Your Greektown table breakdowns are off. It's usually 4-5 limit tables, and it's not terribly often that all 19 tables are running, so it's as high or higher a portion of raked games as MCC.

Rakes are high because they can be. Aside from the Greektown/MCC/Windsor trio, it's a hike to get to Sarnia or Mt. Pleasant. It has nothing to do with shuffle machines. Rake was exactly as high before the machines came in.

As for leasing, read the responses. Leasing provides a "set it and forget it" mentality for the shufflers. If one breaks, you pull it out of the table (after an hour of calling the floor about it) and put in a replacement. You then tell Shufflemaster "Fix it, bitches" and don't have to worry about being out $14,000 before getting $14,000 of worth out of it.

I...do not wear a tinfoil hat

[/ QUOTE ]

If you did, would you recommend Reynold's Wrap or the store brand?

I made mine out of the store's aluminium foil and I don't think it's as effective as it could have been had I used a better quality brand.

I need a response within the next thirteen minutes, forty-two seconds...please hurry.

[/ QUOTE ]

Neither Reynold's wrap nor the store brand will work. You need tinfoil, not aluminum.

1) Greektown Casino in Detroit has 18 tables, 90% of which at any given time are spreading a timed collection NL game. Since dealing extra hands per hour generates them no extra income with this time collection, why do they generously pay the monthly leasing for shufflers on each and every one of their tables?

[/ QUOTE ]

More hands per hour =
more tips per hour for the dealers =
higher effective dealer salaries =
better dealers =
happier players =
more games =
more money
