There is nothing inconsistent with taking the position that public schools should be strengthened, while using one's own money for private school.

If anything, he has sacrificed a healthy sex life in order to pursue a career in public service. Of course his sexual repression can only endure so long before he seeks an unhealthy release. Picking up random sex partners in a public rest room is pretty freakin sleazy and disgusting regardless of the sexual orientation. I'd say his career as a senator is toast.
